Thanks to stevec50_at_yahoo.com and RobDBell_at_netscape.net for their
suggestions. They and several others have pointed to memory as the
most probable culprit. BTW, I have 64MB of IBM memory installed by
IBM. I'll have to get the memory tested or swap it for memory that is
known to be good. I'll let you know what happens.
