You are correct, and I did buy my 240 at a discount. But the last
price of the 240X on the UK site was more than the base X20.
However, I still got the warranty with it, and as IBM cocked up
repairing it they were obliged to do what they did.
I've just found that you can do the BIOS update from hard disk, but
you need the latest version of the 'embedded controller', which can
only be updated from floppy... I hope I have the latest version
already - just about to reboot to find out.
