I have been readingin past messages that it is possible to install a 6.4gig hard disk on my Thinkpad 755CD.
My main question is -how-?
I have tried updating the BIOS - No luck
Tried IBM Disk Manager 2000 - Always comes up with error 174.
Don't know how to get into the CMOS setup on my 755CD so not sure whether I'm doing it right. Disk Manager seems to place some files at the start of my hard disk drive when I install it, so that it can recognise 2.1gig plus, but it does this to my old drive, it does recognise my new drive.
Also I'm using the connectors from my previous 810meg drive.
(Heard something about bending two of the pins to make it work, is this true, if so what do I do?)
Can't copy from 1 drive to another because 755cd only has room for 1 drive.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Daint
