Greetings All,
About a year ago we had a lengthy discussion WRT what processor modules were in
our various Thinkpads and what upgrade paths might be available to us.
IIRC, we came to the conclusion that our 600s used the Intel MMC1 module, while
the 600Es used the MMC2 module. Is this correct? With processor prices
plummeting of late, there are PIII 500MHz MMC2 modules available for under $200
and I'm considering attempting an upgrade on my 600E, although I'm unsure as to
how to address the FSB differential between the 100MHz required for the PIII
module and the 66MHz of the current module and the MB.
What about our 770s? IIRC, there was talk that they didn't use the MMC module
but used the Mini-Cartridge format instead.
The HMMs are rather ambiguous about which module is in each system.
Did we ever come to any final conclusions about this?
Regards,
James
