What part of the boot process is slow? Do you get to the 'Starting Windows 2000' boot screen quickly and then it sits there? Does the PC take forever to get past the initial black screen? Or do you get the login prompt quickly but it takes a long time for the disk to stop reading due to all the drivers and apps being loaded at Windows startup?

Depending on the situation we may be able to offer more ideas.
