As you have probably read in other folks' responses, this can't be done
natively in W2K. If you have a A/T series Dock, you can add a PCI video card
and run dual monitor very nicely. You will want to go to your BIOS, go to
configuration, choose Display, and change the default display device to
"AGP".
I do this every day with good success.

Subject: A21p w/external monitor as 2nd display
In anyone's experience, does it work to plug in an external monitor as a
*second* display along with the main LCD screen (yes, I realize from what
scraps of documentation I can find that the external monitor will be driven
at the same resolution & color depth as the main screen)? If so, can you
place it logically to the right, left, or top of the main LCD?
Any helpful experiences greatly appreciated before I plunk down the money
for an external 17" LCD to double my logical screen real estate. (Looking at
the Samsung 770tft as a good, cheap choice.)
