I upgraded my 600 from its native w95 install to w98. Then I went to
fat32 using partition magic.
last week i decided i was tired of 98 and i uninstalled it. i forgot
that i had gone to fat32 so i ignored the warning that 'w95 does not
understand fat32' and now it won't even boot.
a w95 rescue disk shows only the first 2 gigs of my hard drive, and
the directories are all named with characters from 128 up. scandisk
says that copy 2 of my fat is better than copy 1 of my fat and wants
to replace it for me. partition magic shows only the first 2 gig
partition, and says my cluster size is 4k.
can i put w98 back on and have it leave my files alone? any ideas
appreciated. i really screwed the pooch this time.
thanks.
