up to 5 years depending on usage patterns.
as far as replacements.... i have alot of spare batteries around here so i
took apart the old battery and hooked up the leads to a new one. at least
thats how it is on an old 755 :) i hope ibm ditched the stupid wires coming
off the battery and just built the battery terminal into the case or
something.
