This is probably one of the rare times that using a local service center is
better than sending the
machine in. In the case of the broken latch on my 560, the person on the
phone assured me it would
be covered and had me send the machine in. When it arrived, they called me
and told me it *wouldn't*
be covered, and moreover that there was no way they could get my machine
back to me before I left
for my 5+ month overseas trip. Possibly I could have elevated on the latch,
but all my energy was
devoted to just getting the machine back.

On a different repair the next year (DC-DC board), they told me on the phone
that they had *also*
repaired the broken latch, gratis. However, when the machine arrived the
latch was still broken.
