I've been seeing a different intermittent display problem on my 570E
recently, which was also new around March. It manifests itself as
"flickering" or "shimmering" in some of the pixels, usually in the left side
of the display.
The number of pixels affected seems to vary based on the colours being
displayed on the screen. For example, I have a dark background, and when
there is a substantial number of white pixels being displayed (ie. the
window for this mail message), the problem isn't happening. But as I shrink
or grow this window vertically, the number of flickering pixels increases or
decreases.
This just started happening, and I haven't done much serious investigation
into the problem yet, but so far, it looks like a hardware LCD problem to me
(other opinions welcomed!), but it isn't happening with sufficient
regularity yet to take it up with IBM.

Subject: 570 display problem
my 570, which was new in march, has developed an intermittent problem
where the lcd seems to lose vertical hold completely and the display
scrolls up so fast that it is unreadable. a cold boot is the only
thing that resets it.
anyone else had this problem? is it time for easyServ?
