Since you welcome comments I think your article is
just a waste of time. You are giving everyone false
hope that something can actually be done about it.
Don't you know that most spammers use bulk email
programs that let them put in any false originating
name and address they want to use to send from and
have no return path like you said. You can't send them
any form of complaint or anything else since they
don't have receive capability. It doesn't matter what
you do, they won't see it and you can't trace them
without help from the major backbone services since
the address, domain, etc are faked.

If you don't believe it, download one of the bulk mail
programs and try it yourself. There are a number of
free ones so anyone can become a spammer.

A few ISP's will help but most won't and some actually
welcome and encourage spam. There are a few spammers
dumb enough to use their real address and domain and
I've been able to get them kicked off when the ISP
will help but for each one like that there are 100
that you can't trace at all. Besides, when you get one
kicked off they will just spring up somewhere else.
I've found that it's best just to put some filters in
your email program to send the most common ones with
subjects like "free", "college diploma", "sexy" and
the like straight to the trash and not be bothered
with them.
