Specifically, the PS/2 port on all ThinkPads will support the type of device
whose icon appears at the port. The port extender for the 730T/TE shows a
Keyboard icon and thusly supports a keyboard plugged directly into the port.

Most ThinkPads with a PS/2 port will allow you to use a Y cable to mount both
a keyboard and a mouse. The "mouse" port on the cable should recieve the
device that matches the icon of the PS/2 port on the ThinkPad. The "keyboard"
port should recieve the other.

mouse->Y == (mouse icon: mouse, keyboard icon: keyboard)

keyboard->Y == (mouse icon: keyboard, keyboard icon: mouse)
