hi all, first post to the list.
i've just obtained a 560e (150mmx/32mb/2gig) primarily
for music sequencing purposes. i wonder if anyone
could answer a few questions.
- i've read mixed things about the pcmcia slots. are
they actually cardbus compatible under win98? the
overview of a 3com ethernet card on the ibm site seems
to suggest that's the case. if it is - would the
thinkpad (theoretically, if not practically) support
usb?
- when playing audio, the sound occasionally skips
briefly. this seems to happen when i move the mouse.
freeing memory (using analogx maxmem) doesn't do much
to solve it - any ideas, anyone?
- how many simms can the machine take at once?
- the "IBM Thinkpad 560 Family Port Replicator" has no
pcmcia slots. am i to assume the existing pcmcia slots
are accessible while the machine is docked? (yes,
strange question but i don't have any experience of
these things!)
- finally... (i promise)... this is a used machine,
and when i got it i noticed the 'mouse' buttons have
rubbed slightly on the screen causing marks (more
noticeable when the machine is off). is this a design
quirk?
pheweee.... best to get it all out :)
thanks very much in advance,
claire x
