Actually you're quite wrong here, plenty of LCDs seperate or oxidize
due to age through no fault of the user, and a row or column or block of
them go out. You're expecting them to cover breaking it is just a
faulty assumption then, based on your not knowing that LCDs have plenty
of other failure modes. And like I said, look at the rest of the terms
of your warranty. That clause against user damage specifically tells
you that they didn't promise you what you're saying.

Actually, there are millions of people in the US who've never once
dropped and broken their laptop or palmtop screens, myself included.
That's millions of successful arguments against what you're saying.

Well, see that is how YOU see it, because you don't want to accept any
personal responsibilty for the actions you did or didn't take to protect
your palm. It is a simple fact of human nature that you and everyone
else in the world are noticably more likely to break something if you
don't expect to have to pay for it than if you do. And that you're
thinking your warranty was even supposed to cover it clearly shows that
you didn't think you'd have to pay for it.

Not at all. But someone that has sex on purpose or even accidently
but under their responsibility that wasn't raped can't then claim rape.
Your palm didn't drop itself, YOU dropped it or caused it to be
dropped. That's not my fault for telling you, or whoever's for not
repairing it, only your's unless someone else dropped it for you.
PROOF in point. If I bought your palm from you off ebay, and you gave
it a 7 day warranty against defects, and I dropped it, you'd say I was
an idiot for dropping it and expecting you to replace it. Even if I
paid you $5 or $10 extra to make it 30 days instead to make sure it
wasn't defective, you still wouldn't buy me a new one to cover your
warranty if I dropped it and broke it, because that just wouldn't make
sense. It simply wasn't a defective unit, I BROKE it.

I'm not blaming you, YOU said it was dropped. That means YOU dropped
it, or put it somewhere that would allow it to drop. That isn't a
design flaw like a case flexing and cracking, that is something you did,
whether you want to take responsiblity for it or not. If YOU drop my
digital camera that I paid for and loaned it to you to use, YOU are
responsible and should pay for it, not tell me I'm out of luck because
the manufacturer won't cover it under warranty. It wouldn't be my
fault, and it wouldn't be the manufacturer's. It'd be yours..
I worked at IBM in Mobiles around 6 or 7 years ago, and no user broken
screens were not covered even then. They simply can't build glass
strong enough for you not to crack, so it is a risk inherent for you to
take.
I'm not making your day bad because of telling you this. Whoever
isn't making your day bad because they won't cover something that
shouldn't be covered. You had a bad day because you dropped your palm.
Learn from it and move on.
And please save your phony respect for other people.
