YES..
i can't DOCUMENT my experiences but i've send many thinkpads in to easy
serve and mostly, if the low level tech could not be convinced, upper
management was more likely to take a look with a less pre-judged eye..
most recently an A20p had keytop marks in the display..
the result of being shipped with weight on the top, pressing it down,
slightly, onto the keyboard keytops..
they did not replace the display, but they DID polish these marks out, to
the satisfaction of my customer..
in another case, a 770 had a very strange failure of the display..
it appeard to be fine until viewed in low light with a dark backgorund...
there appeared thousands on tiny specs of light.. sorta like looking at the
milky way galaxy on a clear cold night..
took about two days to get a manager to take the machine into a room so as
to replicate the conditions..
then i got the new display..
also one instance of a fellow just telling me to go suck eggs, and he did
not care if i wrote lou's office..
