See the thin part to the right of the right cursor key? Push your top lid
back and forth, watch how it flexes. The left side flexes also, but is
thicker and I would assume stronger.
I didn't think about the stress from picking it up. Good point.
That strip of plastic also forms the top left corner of the media bay. I
have only swapped the bay a handful of times, so I doubt that is a factor
in my case. I keep the DVD in 99% of the time.
My point to IBM is that this is a weak spot in the case, and with normal
use it will break over time. I have one of the earliest T20s, and expect
this to crop up more and more as time goes by. Admittedly I use the laptop
almost daily, but that should not be called abuse.
