I also installed Xp on a 570E - both as a 2000 upgrade and a fresh
install. I do find it faster than 2000, both on bootup and running
apps.
The one thing that is slower to start in Xp is Word 2002 - but likely
because of my configuration. I have a dual boot W2K/Wxp system: C: W2K,
D: Applications, E: Data, F: Wxp I do this to conserve space by
installing the applications to the same partition and keeping the OS
partitions small for imaging. I used to do this as well with my W98/W2k
dual boot config.
Office Xp is installed on D and run from both W2K and Wxp. PowerPoint,
Access, Outlook, and Excel all start quickly from both sides, and Word
does from the W2k side. But under Xp, it goes through the bit of an
install routine as it does the first time you run one of these apps
after installation. However, it happens every time I start Word under
Xp.

Like James, I haven't had any problems installing WinXP (also RC2) on my
570E (I installed it on top of Win2000 w/ SP2). Since you are looking
for
tips: if you have the 2nd HDD adapter, just make sure you don't put a
Win2000 drive with NTFS5 partitions in it, lest you won't be able to use
it in Win2000 later on.
Frankly, I must say I wasn't terribly impressed by WinXP: my 570E (PIII
500 Mhz, 320 MB of RAM) felt markedly slower than with Win2000.
