Subject: video problem?

Hello,

I am not a subscriber to this address but the young man who sold me his
Thinkpad770ED a few months ago thought I might get help here for my problem.

I recently updated from W95 to W98 (first edition) and have downloaded I
believe all the relevant driver updates (ultrabay, modem, bios and video).
However, I crash continually and this is usually associated with what
appears to be a problem with my video driver as every few sessions will
begin with a reduced screen-size and a warning that there is a problem with
my card or my parameters.

This is easily and always remedied by re-executing the new video driver in
accordance with the instructions supplied from the Thinkpad site. However
the problem recurs daily. One thing that I find strange : in the course of
execution I encounter a box which tells me that this is not really the right
driver and asks if I want to install it anyway. The aforementioned
instructions, referring to this as the "Update DriverWarning", tell me to
ignore it...
Is this a common problem? Does someone know how I can solve it?

Thanks in advance,

Noël Burch
