I guess with EZCD5.0 and EZCD5.02, on the A22P and the Dell
Inspiron 8000 I had tested WinXP RC1/RC2 with, it would do the BSOD right
after reboot. Safe mode gave the same BSOD so the boot with WinXP CD and
then did the repair install option and that put the IRQL LESS OR EQUAL
BSOD at the end of the shutdown process like on my 770Z and desktop
instead. This is caused by DirectCD5.x being incompatible with WinXP.
Another issue was MusicMatch JukeBox Plus 6.1 where it adds it's own
driver to the LowerFilter and UpperFilter of the CurrentControlSet* keys
in the system hive of the registry. This gave me a BSOD as well on reboot
but even a repair install would BSOD as it tries to load that driver.
This rendered my desktop and 770Z useless last week. What I had to do was
take the system hives of the registry for each of those machines and load
and saved the hived on a third machine and edited those keys and removed
the driver before WinXP would work again.
