Go back to the BIOS update page for the system:
http://www.pc.ibm.com/qtechinfo/DSHY-46HLKQ.html and scroll down until you
see the list of previous BIOS releases. Then download version INET34WW dated
11-20-99 which is spsdin34.exe.

This is the latest BIOS for that machine UNLESS you're running Linux.
Whatever changes they made in version INET35WW it has been widely reported
to choke when attempting to upgrade a non-Linux machine.

I have the exact same machine (2645-4AU) and this is the BIOS I'm running
with no problems.
