My guess is that the compatibility list is based on video chipset and electronic interface compatibility only,
not form factor (though one is still skeptical on the 701, given the resolutions the latter makes available).
If the seller is the same Portable Enhancements that used to be on occasional presence on this
list, they are fairly reputable.
Hmmm, I'm imagining a 701 or 240 with a separate 15" screen in its own case - you open up the laptop, unfold
the 15" screen, plug the latter's ribbon cable into a socket added to the outside of the former, and boot up.
Not a bad portable solution.

For many of us, though I reckon I won't be satisfied until we get a 2 pound laptop with a 15 inch screen and 15 hour battery,
