How about Cleartype - does that improve text clarity on the T22 to any
extent? This is probably the main reason I would be looking at XP over W2K.
Would love to hear anyone's opinion on it though.

Subject: T22 & Windows XP... Sound issues & thoughts.

I installed WindowsXP on my T22 (2647 4EU).

Everything works great except for sound. It appears as though whenever
I'm viewing pictures, switching between windows, etc the sound will
occasionally cut out for a second. I've been trying to figure out
whether it happens on more processor-intensive or more
graphics-intensive applications, but I can't seem to nail it down.
I've always got MP3s playing in the background, and it's annoying when
the sound cuts out a few times (for a second or two each) during a 3
minute song.

Does anyone have any ideas? I've tried some things like turning off
graphics hardware acceleration and such. IBM doesn't list any updated
sound drivers for XP.

Am I glad I upgraded to XP (over 2k)? No. It doesn't provide me any
additional functionality (other than booting much faster). It took me
about an hour to disable all of the "Fisher Price - My First OS"
animations and other UI BS. ;)

Thanks,
Kris
