ClearType is wonderful on LCD screens. It takes away the jaggies and makes thin text typical of san serif fonts look a little bit darker/bolder and therefore more readible. It also works on some CRTs but not all.
I upgraded to XP just on the strength of this feature. It's extra good if you have one of the higher res SXGA+ or UXGA screens.
