Might want to check in Device Manager to see if the software's running okay.
If not, try asking Windows to reinstall the drivers. Could just be a fubared
Windows installation from the guy who sold it to you. If you already
reformatted and reinstalled Windows 98 from scratch, it should work straight
away - this was the case with my old 560E, and the IBM driver matrix on
their support site seems to indicate the same as well.
