Well, I was hoping for someone to sell me a new one =) I don't mind an old one though, as long as it still works. It actually is not supposed to be removable, but IBM actually just attaches it to the laptop with some kind of glue gel. if you rip it off and it's in good shape, let me know. Thanks!

Hi!
I'm new to this list, but I've been reading it for about a month now courtesy of the MIT archives. I recently purchased a 600E off ebay for $400, and it's in great shape - even has the IBM warranty on it until 4/2002. My main question is if anyone can provide me with a source (maybe a member on this list?) who sells the various rubber door covers for the 600 series - I need the FDD cover, and for that 1" by 1" piece of plastic IBM parts in Colorado wants $71.50 (!). I spoke with a rep from IBM tech support and they told me that this was considered wear and tear, so it's obviously not covered under the warranty.
The FRU is 05K4828.
Thanks.
