Paul,

I tried the XP drivers but they didn't work (installer said hardware was
not compatible). I did however, have success with the DELL Win2000
drivers. After some fiddling, I am now able to see video again while
docked!

Let's hope IBM releases some native-XP drivers soon. Thanks for your
help!

Tom

I have an A21p, which has the same ATI Rage Mobility 128 chipset as your
A20p.

I went to the Dell support site and downloaded the ATI Rage Mobility 128
driver from their Latitude C800 page and installed it on XP. Works
great for me. This puts the ATI tabs back into the Display settings
window. These are Win2K drivers but I've been running them for weeks on
my A21p. There's a good chance Dell will post XP drivers before IBM.

Here's a direct link to the download page:

  http://support.dell.com/us/en/filelib/download/index.asp?fileid=r29628

The web page names a bunch of ATI video chipsets this driver supports
and the Rage 128 is listed.

I just noticed there is an actual XP driver set on the Dell web site. I
haven't tried it but I have high confidence they will work. Here's the
long long link:

http://support.dell.com/us/en/filelib/download/index.asp?fileid=R34413&s
id=LAT_PNT_P3C_C800&lang=EN&lib=6&os=WW1&searchtype=filter&devid=675&typ
e=DRVR

Also, perhaps the method you should try first is to use XP's built in
Windows Update feature. It offered and installed a new ATI video driver
for me on a Dell laptop with a Rage M4 video chipset (though it called
it an M3 driver.) Works fine.

Any of these methods will get you newer drivers and the ATI specific
tabs but I don't know if your specific problem is addressed. I just
tried it (11/1/01) and it didn't offer a driver for my A21p.
