Slow startup

Yesterday and today I noticed that my TP T22 (1 ghz) took over 2 minutes to
just get to the Windows 2000 startup. The IBM Thinkpad logo was on for
about 1 minute, then the restore option also displayed for about 1 minute.

What is happening? It is plugged in with a 100% battery charge.

Any suggestions?
