Here's the conclusion to my HD migration process.

The first thing I tried was to boot into the Recovery Console. From
there, I told it to fix the boot record and the partition table. I
ended up with a totally screwed up partition. I was unable to get
Partition Magic to do anything with the drive. So, I went into FDISK
and created a 32Meg Primary partition on the drive. This seems to have
re-written the partition table and allowed me to go in with Partition
Magic and manipulate the drive. For now, all I did was delete the
partition I had created using FDISK.

Running Drive Image, I made a disk to disk copy of the partition on my
smaller drive into Free Space on the larger, telling it to leave the
excess capacity unused (No resizing the partition). I went into the
Advanced Options and told it not to hide either partition when the
copy was done, since I was about to disconnect the big drive, put it
into its carrier box, and go back to having just one HD on the system
at a time. After this process, I was still able to boot from my
smaller drive, and now able to boot from the larger.

Finally, I went in again with Partition Magic and sliced and diced the
drive the way I really want it. Tonight, the repartitioning should be
finished, and I'll try installing Red Hat 7.1 onto the TP770ED. I had
to fiddle around a lot to get 6.2 working properly on it, but 7.1 went
onto my A21p like a dream, so I have hopes that it will also be smooth
on the older 770ED. (Based on Red Hat Email lists, I'm not feeling
that 7.2 is quite ready for me to plunge into.)

Thanks to everyone who offered assistance.

Ron.
