Hello!
I have a TP 365X with 770 MB hard disk. I wanted to buy a new disk, but
first I need to know answers to these questions:
* How big maximally the disk can be? (I have the newest BIOS upgrade
available from IBM, if that matters)
* Can it be any 2.5" disk, or has it be a special model? I'm asking this
because once I plugged a 700 MB disk from Compaq (the disk was
manufactured by IBM, by the way) and BIOS wasn't able to boot from it. I
booted Win95 from floppy and it didn't see the disk. I booted Linux from
floppy and it detected the disk as /dev/hdb instead of /dev/hda, but
apart from this, it worked perfectly. I can't guarantee that the disk
was OK, but my question is: do I need a particular type of disk from IBM
to be able to boot from it in BIOS, or can it be any disk available?
Greetings,
Michal Pleban.
