I did use my 701 adapter (the little one with the fold out plug
prongs) on my t21. It worked, it charged the battery, it got hot.
I gave it to my daughter with the tp 600 I was giving her at the
time.
I try to have two for my laptops and thought she should have two as
well. It spends, like most laptops, a lot of time in one place
pretending to be a big computer and it seems nice to integrate the
power into your desk. The second one stays in the bag to travel.
I think it would be silly (irresponsible or incautious) to use a power
adapter other than the specified one without keeping an eye on it. I
wouldn't, for example, bury a small power brick in the nest of wires
behind and below my desk. The small one travels and I feel it each
time it gets plugged in and unplugged.
