i've watched memory use with huge amounts of memory and not seen much if any
swap file use..

I thought Windows always used a swap file somewhat, just that
having more RAM minimized it's use - but I haven't played with this
stuff in a couple of years, at least. Do W2K and WXP not go to disk at
all until the RAM is full?
This is weird - I was working on a cousin's 701 when it hit me: my
current laptop is 750Mhz with 320MB RAM, and my 701 was 75Mhz with
32MB! The increase in drive space is so large it isn't even funny...
