In my case it's laziness! ;-)

Using Outlook 2000, my choices are limited to Reply and Reply to All and I
usually select the latter in order to ensure that my reply also goes to the
list. Selecting "Reply" only sends my reply to the original sender, not the
list.

Sometimes I delete the original sender's address from the To: field, sometimes
not. Hence the person I reply to on the list will get to read my message twice,
the lucky devil!
