Hi all,
Had this problem a while ago, and now I know why it's back. It only happens
on battery power.
I'm hearing an intermitten, subtle 'screech' (.25 to .5 sec) when on
batteries. With IBM's help, I've tweaked my sound properties, no dice. It's
a minor niggle, but, still annoying. I rediscovered the sound today when I
decided to drain/cycle my cells (main and secondary batteries). I do this
every couple of months and have found it extends battery life and capacity.
I've seen people report some sort of "shielding" installed by EasyServ,
presumably to the modem/NIC. Could this be my answer? I forgot to check if
the sound persists when I was off the LAN, though I seem to recall it did it
the last time I was on batteries, and I was off the LAN then for sure.
Any thoughts?
