Good luck. We have never discovered a "reliable" LI-ON battery NOT
distributed by IBM. If you find a lower priced battery, it originally
came from IBM and there is something rong with it. Of course, IBM
does not make those batteries (do they?), but for some strange reason
there are not good alternate manufacturers. This is true for most
laptops by any manufacturers, and a mystery to me. Why isn't there
competition in specialty batteries?

It is possible to find alternate Ni-Cad and NI-MH batteries sometimes,
when you have a computer that can use them.

Your best shot is search the sites for low prices... the Battery
Lady... sometimes overstock at www.ecost.com, www.insight.com,
www.igo.com, www.necxdirect.com and a few others. Sometimes you can
find a deal site by searching www.pricewatch.com or www.ebiz.com

I have found batteries new in sealed boxes periodically on eBay but
the sellers usually do not have more than 5 or 7 to sell.

--- When trouble arises and things look bad, there is always one person who perceives a solution and is willing to take command. Very often, that individual is crazy.
