As I said in my previous message, it's simply a matter of whether the
software you're running is actively using more than that 256Mb. If it is,
then the extra memory will make it faster.

Just running one virtual machine will do it. I've got a Windows 2000 virtual
machine running right now that has 128Mb of physical memory allocated to it.
That would only leave another 128Mb for everything running on the physical
machine. So if I load up Panorama Factory and work on a large panorama, plus
run Paint Shop Pro, Outlook, Visual C++, and a few IE browser windows, I'm
going to hit that 256Mb pretty quick.

That's a fairly typical load for my machine. Believe me, I notice the
difference between 256Mb and 512Mb. :-)
