I installed SuSe 7.2 on mt 600E and it seems reasonably fast (i.e. for
most tasks, I can't notice any difference between my 600E and my
celeron 800 desktop). However, note that I am running 294mb of ram in
the 600E. I think x-windows is particularly memory hungry, so maybe
adding some ram will imporve things, or alternatively, try cutting down
on some of the "frills" of KDE.
