i've been here in brisbane for the past 5 months on sabbatical. two
weeks ago my X20 (purchased on ebay in the US before i left) had its
hard disk die. i tried calling tech support in the US (assuming the
warranty would only hold there. fortunately, (as it turns out), the
voice mail wouldn't work correctly (pressing 1 kept cycling the same
message). so i tried an austrialia number on a sunday morning. not only
did a very knowledgeable and friendly woman at ibm help diagnose the
problem, but i had a new hd delivered to my door two days later.

so, ibm support in au seems to be very good in my sample of 1.
