...And that was why I started this. It isn't about preferences, it's
about safety.
Without going into lengthy discussions about all this, someone
said they thought I went a little far on this, to which I reply take
a look at the virus notifications and look at how many are directly
related to the unsecurities of Microsoft products. It is simply
unreal. For the person who asked if I thought that Windows
should be in the same category as Outlook, I'd say just about.
My personal machines are all OpenBSD. The machine I am
writing this on, my 1451i is my work machine which runs the OS
that people at my work are doing. But very soon now I'll be
abandoning Windows completely in favor of OpenBSD, on a
new A30p I'll be getting. I'll have Win2K on it, but only when I
need to do something specific for one of my users.
I don't advocate Windows to anyone. So far I've gotten 11 people
to leave Windows completely, in favor of various Open Source
systems (Linux, OpenBSD). If anyone wants info on that, please
send me mail directly to keep it off the list.
In a sense I regret sending my anti-Outlook mail to this list, as it
wasn't TP related, but at the same time I know people don't realize
how dangerous it is, running it.
Anyway, direct any other comments to me, thanks.
