Problems getting 3c589d working under W95/755CX

Help!

I have a 3c589d ethernet card with dual adapter,
normally running on coax, and I can't get the thing
working under W95. I've used the PnP installation,
tried it manually etc but no joy. Are there any
hints or tips? The driver diskette is v5.3.

I also use the same adapter fine under linux so
I know the hardware is OK.
