I have not yet installed onto my 755CE. Its HD failed the other day
and has not yet been replaced. However, I will be installing Red Hat
7.2 onto it using the same method as I recently used to install 7.1
onto an older Toshiba notebook. I've got an old CD-ROM with built-in
PCMCIA card which was recognized just fine by the appropriate Red Hat
boot floppy. The install went great.
A while back, I installed Red Hat 6.2 onto my TP770ED (floppy and
DVD-ROM). The removable drives were not an issue, but everything was a
pain in the butt. A couple weeks ago, I installed 7.2 onto the same
system, and everything went in smooth and nice. Video controller
recognized and X Window configured with no sweat or swearing. I don't
think I've tried the sound, yet, the other major problem area under
release 6.2 for the 770ED.
Ron.
