in my experience, it'll boot and run and install, as long as the 600 in
question will support booting from the CD, BUT
like closing the lid in the middle of the boot up process, unpredictable
results are predictable..
in this case, W2k will go nuts replacing drivers and so forth..
while i have taken a w95 HDD from a 760CD and installed it into a 760ED some
years ago, and after the usual
wild "discovery" of new hardware, the result served me well for many months
thereafter, there is always that uncertainty
that what you will wind up with on the 600 will be a bit flaky..
you can sure try, though, with little to lose and much in the way of time
saved, to gain.. :-)
