I had the same problem with a 600E in Win2K. Turned out that
there were not enough system resources, so in the Device
Manager I disabled COM1 (having already disabled infrared) and
the flashcard was instantly recognized as drive G:

Not enough system resources? Sounds like we're still using
DOS! Hmm.
