You should be able to download PS2 from IBMs web site.
I think that it is listed as "Thinkpad features for dos".
It is possible to deactivate the floppy drive to gain a slight amount
of extra battery life.
This could be your only problem.

The only way that I can think of to load and run the PS2 program with
a dead floppy is to get one of the adapters which will allow you to
run the thinkpad hard drive in a desktop PC.
I have one of these and have found it to be quite valuable.

But be careful, it would be very easy to hook up the adapter backwards
and probably do a whole big bunch of damage.

Otherwise you have the classic "Catch 22" problem.

BTW I've seen many bad floppys which will show up as active (not grayed out)

in easy setup.
