had ISDN, before cable was available..
it worked better than POTS V90, but not THAT much better..
strange thing, ISDN.. takes two tel lines or some such thing..
also needs to be tuned up to work well..
requires a special modem (not unlike DSL or Cable)..
i was not happy with it since they thought VERY highly of ISDN here and charged by the second for its use..
it also was reluctant to switch to using both sides of the line from only one side, thus keeping me at its slowest speed..
i dumped it and i was considering the "shotgun" approach when the cable company told me i could have one way cable...
i jumped for the cable even if it WAS one way, since that way was inbound..
i suggest you first consider shotgun (two POTS V90 or whatever modems in tandem) before you go to ISDN..
but if this dissertation does not dissuade you from ISDN, i have a FINE 3Com ISDN modem i'll sell.. :-)
cheap.. !!
happy holidays..

Subject: NC: have a question about ISDN
Ok I have a question, I'm using a dial up right now one local (cableone) and one national (juno free) and AOL and I want to upgrade to something better.
I used to have DSL loved it but I got married again and moved and lost my DSL service and I've considered ISDN which is available where I live but I want to know if anyone has had any thing to say about ISDN good or bad, problems ,COST. (man they are proud of ISDN service, cost more than DSL)
If anyone knows of any national services that I could use as it is I've got 3 local companies and they both aren't all that good.
Thanks
