I'm trying to set up a machine that doesn't offer an option (in
setup) to boot from the CD drive, and all I have is a Win2K CD.
The computer came with some stripped-down Win98 installed, it boots
up with a Win98 splash screen and then drops to DOS. Any
suggestions? I tried going to D: and executing setup.exe but it
says I can't do that in DOS mode.
I do have a (Win95) Recovery CD-ROM Boot Diskette from my TP600,
could I use that to get far enough to use the Win2K CD? Or could I
build a Win2K recovery disk on my other machine to do this? I've
never encountered a machine that won't boot from CD (the options
are "diskette first" and "hard disk only").
Thanks for any advice you can offer!
