[600X] Scrambled "Shutdown" Image in W98SE and another odd problem

Hi all,

My 600X, running the most current vid driver, will sometimes (most times
actually) scramble the "Windows is Shutting Down" image. It gets turned into
a scrambled mess of colors, like a mosaic.

Also, it recently had issues starting up with a very, very dim output
display. Sliding the brightness controls did nothing. The image was barely
readable even in darkness. I was resuming from hibernation, if that matters.
I shut it all the way down and it came back up ok.

Any thoughts? The machine is still under warranty.
