48gig model# is: IC25T048ATDA05-0
note that the "048" denotes the capacity..
which means that IBM storage systems either knows more than they're telling
or that they're a bit optomistic.. :-)

the 32gig was DJSA232..

the FRU is different for the thinkpad option travelstar from the OEM
travelstar..

i don't believe that IBM is making the 32gig any longer so you MIGHT have
gotten the 48gig as a replacement..

the 48gig is not faster, just might have faster data throughput than the
32gig..
both turn at 5400 RPM.. but the 48gig pumps the data out faster.. due to
many factors, not the l;east, i think, is the higher areal density.. :-)
