Thanks for the suggestion. I didn't see anything related to ACPI,
enabled or otherwise, but I did see that it was supposed to sleep
after 20 minutes -- a suspiciously familiar length of time!
I changed sleep to never and hibernate to never. Notebook has now
been running for four hours without rebooting.
So I inferred that what's been happening is that it was trying to
sleep but ended up rebooting instead, but then I changed the
settings to 1min and 2min, and waited 5 minutes. Nothing happened
so my theory may be wrong.
It also wouldn't explain why the notebook won't power-off when I
tell it to shut down.
Does any of this suggest any other possible reasons?
