Please keep us posted on progress! And where you obtain the new cells...
As far as I know there are no issues - only those 'manufactured' by IBM et
al to protect their market in new battery packs...

Subject: [TP380D] Li-Ion Battery Pack Rebuilding

Hi,

I'm considering replacing the li-ion cells in a 380D battery pack rather
than spending hundreds on a new pack.

I understand that some of the newer "intelligent" batt packs have eeproms
that die when the pack is dead, rendering them useless. Can't see any
eeproms on the board.

Can someone please confirm for me that there are no issues with the boards
in these battery packs that would prevent a straight forward swap of the
cells?

Any hints/tips from others with experience doing this would be great.

Tim
