Hi Guys and Gals,

Well, perhaps you remember that I posted a little while ago (about a
month) regarding RAM errors.

Reminder:
I was trying to add Kingston RAM to my 760ED.
Several of you kindly offered solutions, such as buying a new
Apricorn DIMM carrier, since mine was one of the faulty ones IBM
manufactured.
I did manage to find this DIMM carrier on Ebay and have it shipped to
Budapest [I would have preferred to buy from one of you, since you
helped me! But unfortunately none of you shipped internationally].

I have this carrier now, and installed the new Kingston 32Mb RAM and
the old 24Mb module. Total of 84Mb, past the limit, but allowed
because of the special carrier.

The 84 Mb _does_ show up on startup.
BUT I always get a registry error every time the computer starts up!

Then it automatically restarts every time the desktop starts to come
up.

I switched the higher mem to slot 2, lower into slot 1.
Still same problem!

With all the new possible configurations, only the one with the
original RAM and new DIMM carrier works without errors (Total=56Mb).

But the system performance is *exactly* the same. And no memory is
displayed upon bootup in this last combination, although it *is*
listed in System Information.

Could somebody please shed some light on the matter? After spending
all this money, I'm back to my original carrier and RAM:)

Thank you for your help,
Paul
